17th INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS
OF GROUP PSYCHOTHERAPY AND GROUP PROCESSES

ROME 2009 24-29 August 2009

GROUPS IN A TIME OF CONFLICT

Come to Rome, to the Eternal City, beneath the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, where Michelangelo painted the covenant between God and man and which is today a cultural crossroads where the remains of an ancient past coexist with the frontiers of modernity. Let us meet there together, psychotherapists and students of group therapy from all over the world: let us meet in small, medium-sized and large groups, each following its own different method.

We will examine and explore the importance of relationships, of dialogue between individuals, groups and cultures in a world of accelerating transformations – technological, virtual and climatic – in which it is necessary to plan for survival during a time of conflict. We will experience the interdisciplinary stimuli of research into the psychology of group processes, of neurology, of neurosciences, of transcultural psychotherapies, of human rights, of actions taken to resolve conflicts and for the development of peace in groups and organizations
